# What is Electronic miscellaneous document?

An electronic miscellaneous document is the separate receipt for paid extras such as bags, seats or change fees, issued apart from the flight ticket.

Also called: EMD, Miscellaneous charge order.

## How it works #

Because it is a distinct document with its own number, refunds treat it separately: a refunded ticket does not automatically return the seat or baggage payment. After a cancellation it is worth checking whether every associated document was cancelled too, and claiming any that were not, one by one.

## Not to be confused with #

An electronic miscellaneous document is not the same as the flight ticket: the ticket evidences carriage, the document a separately purchased extra.

## In German #
