An error fare is a fare published by mistake far below normal levels, typically through a keying error or a currency mix-up.
An error fare is a fare published by mistake far below normal levels, typically through a keying error or a currency mix-up.
Also called: Mistake fare.
How it works#
Whether such a booking survives depends on the law of the country of purchase and on the airline’s response: some cancel and refund, some honour the price, some offer a substitute. Anyone chasing one avoids booking non-refundable extras such as hotels or onward flights until the ticket is issued and the airline’s own cancellation window has passed.
Not to be confused with#
An error fare is not the same as a sale fare: a sale fare is deliberate and priced on purpose, an error fare rests on a mistake.
