# What is Sweet spot?

A sweet spot is a redemption where an award chart asks for far fewer miles than the cash price of the route would suggest.

Also called: Redemption sweet spot.

## How it works #

Sweet spots appear when a zone map stops matching commercial reality: an expensive route falls into a cheap zone, or a programme prices a partner flight by its own chart. They are inherently temporary, because any chart change closes them. A sweet spot is therefore a reason to book now, not a reason to stockpile miles for later.

## Not to be confused with #

A sweet spot is not the same as a cheap cash fare: it describes a mismatch inside a mileage chart, not a low price in money.
