What is Early check-in?

Early check-in means taking the hotel room before the standard arrival time, generally subject to availability and without entitlement.

Early check-in means taking the hotel room before the standard arrival time, generally subject to availability and without entitlement.

How it works#

Unlike late checkout, early check-in is rarely a fixed elite benefit, because the room may have been occupied the night before. The only reliable version is booking the previous night. Arriving without a confirmation usually means leaving bags at the desk and getting the room once housekeeping is done, goodwill rather than a promise.

Not to be confused with#

Early check-in is not the same as booking the previous night, which is the only way to guarantee the room in the morning.
