What is Lounge membership?

A lounge membership is access to a network of independent lounges, usually provided as a card benefit with a capped number of visits or guests.

A lounge membership is access to a network of independent lounges, usually provided as a card benefit with a capped number of visits or guests.

Also called: Priority Pass, Lounge network.

How it works#

The network negotiates access lounge by lounge, so one airport may have several participating lounges and another none. Operators may refuse members when busy, and individual lounges restrict access to certain hours. The value of a membership is therefore measured against the airports actually travelled through, not the size of the network.

Not to be confused with#

A lounge membership is not the same as status-based access: status opens the airline’s and its alliance’s lounges, a membership opens an independent network.
