What is Cabin class?

Cabin class is the physical section of an aircraft, economy, premium economy, business or first, each with its own seating and service.

Cabin class is the physical section of an aircraft, economy, premium economy, business or first, each with its own seating and service.

Also called: Travel class.

How it works#

The name of the class says little about what is installed: business class can mean a lie-flat bed with aisle access or a wider seat with the neighbouring seat blocked. The aircraft type and seat map answer that question; the class name does not. Inside every cabin the airline sells several fare classes carrying different rights.

Not to be confused with#

Cabin class is not the same as fare class: the cabin describes the seating area, the fare class describes the fare that seat was sold under.
